A site manager, who is building new homes in Thurrock, has won a prestigious national award for his work at a local housing development.

Site manager at Bellway's Renovo development at West Thurrock, Stuart Taylor, has been named as the winner of a National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award for his 'excellence in site management'.

RESIDENTS across Thurrock have mocked Thurrock Council after it delivered its 'improvements and benefits' to safe and sustainable travel across the borough by painting arrows and lettering on pavements and putting up signs on lamp-posts that offered little or no explanation about what they mean.

And it appears a commitment to consult with councillors about the project has been ignored - other than to tell them what is happening.

THE air ambulance landed and emergency vehicles rushed to the scene in the heart of Grays this afternoon (Sunday, 26 July after a young girl fell through a roof near Grays Town park.

A statement from the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Service said: "An Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle was tasked to assist EEAST with a female patient fall incident in Bedford Road, Grays. Teams worked together on scene to optimise patient outcome. The patient was transferred to the Emergency Department for ongoing treatment."

LOCAL campaigners have welcomed news that the Department of Transport's future roads programme, which includes the proposed Lower Thames Crossing, is to be challenged in the High Court.

Members of the Thurrock-based Thames Crossing Action Group are supporters of the Transport Action Network, an independent organisation set up in 2019 and funded by donations to offer advice and backing to local campaigns.
