AVELEY FC have parted company with manager Keith Rowland, the third managerial change for Borough non-League club in recent days.

The Tilbury managerial partnership of Marc Harrison and his assistant Liam Wallace found they were no longer wanted last week and yesterday (Saturday, 7 November) brought an end to the managerial reign of Paul Martin at East Thurrock United.

After yesterday's home defeat by Leatherhead Martin released the following statement: "I have I decided to step down with immediate effect as my role as manager of East Thurrock United.

"I would like to thank Steve Wiseman for giving me the opportunity and sticking by me but with limited resources it as been very tough task at this level

"But after some vary good results and a half decent FA Cup run we have struggled with injuries and performances and the results are just not good enough, and we all know football is a results game and that's what supporters want to see."

While the Rocks start the search for a new management team, having invited applications from potential candidates, chairman Steve Wiseman and Ex Met Police and Grays Athletic manger Jim Cooper will take charge of East Thurrock team affairs against Lewes on Tuesday evening.

Today came news that Aveley have ousted former Northern Ireland manager Rowland.

A brief statement from the Millers says: "Aveley Football Club can announce this morning we have parted company with Keith Rowland.

"The club would like to put on record its appreciation to Keith Rowland for the last two years at Parkside, which included our historic FA Trophy run to the Quarter Final in the 2019/20 season.

"We would like to wish Keith Rowland all the best for the future."

The news comes with Aveley placed fourth in the Isthmian North, having beaten Basildon United 3-1 yesterday in what proved to be Rowland's swansong.

Rowland's playing career included apells with League clubs AFC Bournemouth, Coventry City, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers, Luton Town, Chesterfield and Barnet, as well as non-League Hornchurch, Redbridge and Welling United. He played 19 times for Northern Ireland.
