BELHUS Cricket Club commemorated the life of the late Stewart Farr at North Stifford and helped raise funds for 'Help for Heroes' charity with a keenly fought Hundred ball cricket match between a Joe Joyce XI and a Liam Waters XI.

The highlight of the game was when Stewart's father bowled a five ball over and took a wicket.

Other fundraising activities on the day included a morning 10k walk around the boundary by the Belhus Belles led by Nikki Gladwin, Katie Davy and Nicola Hart, a giant club raffle, an auction of signed West Ham and Arsenal football memorabilia and a contest to guess how many sweets in the jar.

The number of sweets in a jar contest even had a 'bowl off' for third place between Lee Maynard and Jess Walker, Jess emerging victorious!

At the end of the festivities, Belhus CC groundsman, Pete, prepared a water slide for all ages to cool off after a hard day's fund raising for Help the Heros. Fun-loving Stewart would have been proud. Well done all.
