THERE was defeat by the same margin for the borough's three BetVictor Isthmian League sides in action this evening (Tuesday, 3 March).

East Thurrock United went down 2-1 at Corinthian Casuals, while Tilbury were beaten at home by the same score by Maldon and Tiptree.

Both matches had goals in the second minute, East Thurrock going behind in South London, Tilbury taking the lead at Chadfields.

Corinthians have been struggling in the bottom half of the Premier Division table for much of the season but took an early lead against the Rocks through Gabriel Odunaike.

Benjamin Checklit grabbed a second for the home side after 29 minutes and they took the lead into the break.

Danny Cossington grabbed one back for the visitors with his first goal for the Rocks on 57 minutes but they couldn't find an equaliser.

It was a reverse story at Dockers' Chadfields ground where Tilbury went in front in the Division North through Brian Moses in the opening minutes but Martyn Stokes pulled one back on 13 minutes and the winner came from Jake Cass with half an hour remaining.

Grays Athletic were also 2-1 losers in the same division at Bury Town where a goal from Ollie Fenn put the home side one up two minutes before the break.

Cemal Ramadan appeared to have made the match safe with a goal three minutes from time for Bury. Deep into injury time Steve King pulled one back for Grays, but that was as good as it got.
