A FATHER'S Day treat with a difference is on offer in Thurrock this weekend.

Thurrock Yacht Club are running a Discover Sailing session as part of the wider Grays Riverside Festival, Kinetika T100, and the Essex and Suffolk Festival of the Sea on Sunday, 19 June. This is a safe and gentle introduction to sailing, in our club owned fleet of Wayfarer dinghies.

Each boat will be skippered by a competent helm, and safety boats will be in attendance. Club members will be on hand to talk about the club and their activities

They will be on the water from around 3pm until around 5pm.

The club can provide safety equipment, but suggest you bring soft soled shoes, wet weather gear and a change of clothes, just in case it rains

The activity is suitable for anyone aged eight and above, with sufficient mobility to be able to step in and out of a boat.
