TILBURY will be seeking to extend their lead at the top of the Isthmian North table tomorrow (Tuesday, 26 October) when they travel to face Maldon & Tiptree.

The Dockers are three points clear, five points and four places above Maldon - who have only played four matches as opposed to Tilbury's six because of an impressive FA Cup run that has carried them to the first round proper.

They will find out tonight who they face in the first round when the draw is made at around 7.10pm ahead of the BT Sport televised final qualifying round tie between Bishops Stortford and St Albans City - a match that includes several members of last season's East Thurrock United squad who moved to Bishops in the close season.

Tomorrow's match kicks off at 7.30pm.

Dockers, who strengthened their squad last week with the signing of striker Tony Stokes, have announced the departure of two players, Tommy Barton and defender Joe Turpin.

Speaking about midfielder Barton, Tilbury boss Marc Harrison said: "Tommy Barton has taken the decision to leave Tilbury. Tommy has been a great in his time at the club and left us with some great memories, his goal at Biggleswade to name but one.

He has been a fantastic servant and stands for so much more than a player. He is a tough midfielder who has won so many battles for us and has consistently put his body on the line for us.

"I am genuinely sad to see him go and we wish him all the very best for the future. We have collectively been relentless to gain promotions to get to this level and without Tommy that would not have been possible.''

Also in action tomorrow (at 7.45pm) are fourth-placed Aveley who travel to Coggeshall Town, one of the sides expected to be at the top end of the table by many but who have struggled so far this season.

On Wednesday Grays Athletic will play host to Great Wakering Rovers in the Isthmian North at Parkside (7.45pm).

Grays' scheduled home match on Saturday, 7 November against Maldon has been rearranged because of the Jammers' cup success and will now take place at Parkside on Tuesday, 2 December 7.30pm.)
