Aveley 5, East Thurrock United 2

FORMER East Thurrock United player Alex Clark enjoyed a great evening against his former club when Aveley played host to the Rocks in a friendly at Parkside last night (Monday, 19 July).

The Millers ran out comfortable winners against their Isthmian Premier League visitors with Clark scoring four goals.

The hosts, who are preparing for another crack at the Isthmian North division, made a good start and led 2-0 at half time, Clark getting both goals.

A penalty from one of a number of trialists in the Rocks team and a goal from new signing new signing Johnny Ashman lifted East Thurrock in the second half but the Millers proved decisive winners.
