DESPITE a second half attempted comeback, Grays Athletic bowed out of the FA Cup at the preliminary round stage, losing on the road this afternoon (Sunday, 22 August).

The win was something of a giant-killing for Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Baldock Town who play at Arlsey's Hitchin Road ground but have lost their first two league matches this season.

The hosts opened the scoring on 27 minutes through Owen Robertson and added a second six minutes later when Josh Furness netted.

Grays, who had made a winning start to their Isthmian North campaign, made a couple of changes at half time and got back in the tie when Joseph Agunbiade scored nine minutes into the second half but they were unable to find the equaliser.
