Cray Valley Paper Mills 2, Aveley 0

IN Tuesday's FA Cup battle of two closely matched sides who both go by the nickname Millers the outcome was decided by a player who has plied his trade for both teams.

Such is the way the wind of fortune sways at this level and it is hosts Cray Valley PM who go through and are now just one match away from the potential glory of a FA Cup First Round place.

Aveley, who lost midfielder Mitch Gilbey to injury in the pre-match warm-up, could have few complaints. They rarely fired against their Isthmian South East hosts and were undone by two goals from former Dagenham & Redbridge striker Ade Yusuff who scored both goals.

Yuseff figured briefly for Aveley a couple of season ago, and also had a spell playing for Aveley coach John Coventry when he was in charge at East Thurrock United – but having slipped under their radar he came back with a vengeance tonight (Tuesday, 13 October).

There was little between the sides in the first half but Yuseff grabbed his first goal moments after the second stanza resumption with an opportunistic strike and, after a wave of Aveley pressure through the closing stages, he delivered the hammer blow against his former employers with a breakaway goal in the last minute.
