BUOYED by their season's first win in midweek against Horsham, East Thurrock United will be in good heart when they play host to Isthmian Premier table-toppers Worthing tomorrow (Saturday, 24 October).

Resolute defending of the type shown on Tuesday when two goals from former Spurs man Zenon Stylianides, and one from Luke Illsley gave Rocks a 3-2 win may well be needed but Paul Martin's side will certainly not lack effort if recent performances are anything to go by.

Aveley will be looking to bounce back from a derby defeat by Tilbury, who sit atop the North Division, when Witham Town visit Parkside tomorrow.

The injury-hit Millers have strengthened their squad by signing defender Morisi Gelashvili from Isthmian Premier side Brightlingsea Regent, who dispensed with the services of manager and former East Thurrock first team coach Kemi Izzet in midweek.

Gelashvili had been with Regent since November last year, making 13 appearances last season. He'd made 13 for East Thurrock United earlier in the campaign.

He's played eight times so far this season, making his last appearance in a Regent shirt in Saturday's defeat at Horsham.

The Georgian-born player played professional football over in Georgia before moving to England and signing for Stanway Rovers, Brightlingsea Regent and East Thurrock United. He will be reunited with former Rocks boss John Coventry who is now coaching at Aveley.

In the Isthmian North Grays Athletic will travel to Soham Town Rangers, who sit in fifth place, two places above Jim Cooper's Blues.

Tilbury are without a game this weekend.
