ONE of the highlights of the Essex rural show calendar and a popular annual event in Thurrock is just a couple of days away.

The 117th annual Orsett Show takes place on Saturday (6 September).

The Orsett Show features a lineup of attractions sure to delight visitors of all ages.

Witness jaw-dropping stunts and adrenaline-fueled performances by the Squibb Freestyle motorcycle team, while the Bravo Equestrian Theatre Show showcases the elegance and agility of horses.

Marvel at the majestic Imperial Birds of Prey and Nick Gregory's Misselchalke Gundogs.

Delve into the world of agriculture with informative exhibits, and enjoy the charm of the Lea Valley Dog Training Team.

For enthusiasts of classic and vintage vehicles, a spectacular display awaits. Test your skills with axe throwing or take to the skies with helicopter rides offering breathtaking views.

Indulge in delectable treats from The Pantry, explore unique crafts at the Craft Fair, and ensure the little ones have a blast with the vibrant Kids Section featuring face painting, donkey rides, and a funfair.

This year the show is hosting a Cartoon Character Fancy Dress Competition for children aged up to 11. There will be three age groups (0-3, 4-7, 8-11) offering the opportunity to win prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category!

It's free for the kids to enter though all participants must be accompanied by an adult with a valid show ticket.
