A LONG-standing partnership between Thurrock's traditional Orsett Show and the Port of Tilbury, part of the Forth Ports Group, has been strengthened with the appointment of Paul Dale, Chief Operating Officer, as President of the 118th Orsett Show.

Mr Dale is local to Thurrock and has worked at the Port of Tilbury for many years and now serves on the Forth Ports Executive Board.

In addition to his executive responsibilities he has been involved with education services across the borough, as the Director of the Logistics Academy and Chair of the Tilbury on the Thames Trust and more recently he has been appointed to the OnSide Youth Zone board.

Show Secretary Georgina Clark said: "We are delighted that Paul has agreed to be our President this year. He has been instrumental in securing the Port of Tilbury's continued support and we know his involvement will be a great asset to the organising committee."

Mr Dale said: "The Port of Tilbury has long supported the Orsett Show and, like the Port, it is an important part of our local history.

"The committee works tirelessly to deliver a fantastic family day out each year. It is a privilege to serve as President, and I look forward to helping promote the Show and encouraging more young people to get involved, ensuring a strong future legacy."
