THE Isthmian League has confirmed that Aveley will keep the win and be awarded three points after their recent fixture at Welling United (Tuesday, 12 August) was abandoned in the eighth minute of stoppage time because of a floodlight failure.

Millers were winning 1-0 at the time, thanks to an Ollie peters penalty.

The decision lifts them into the top half of the table ahead of Saturday's (23 August) home clash with third-placed Chatham (3pm).

A statement from Aveley after a meeting of the League's Emergency Committee said: "We thank the league and everyone at Welling United for their timely, professional and efficient manner in handling this matter."

Welling have concured they accept the decision.
