Braintree Town 1, Aveley 0

AVELEY is without a Vanarama National League South win in seven games following a narrow defeat to Braintree Town.

Braintree's resilience earned them three points at the Dunmow Group Stadium on Saturday (16 December).

The hosts found the net after 20 minutes. Tom Blackwell connected with Devonte Aransibia's corner and nodded home.

Braintree had great momentum following the goal, but couldn't find a way through before half-time. Reprieve for The Millers.

Iron's goalkeeper Jack Sims and his backline had a busy second half. However, the hosts held out a narrow one-nil victory.

The Millers return to Parkside to play Slough Town next Saturday (23 December) in the Vanarama National League South. Slough has lost their last two games and sits 20th in the league.
