Aveley out of FA Trophy after losing to higher league opposition

AVELEY are out of the FA Trophy following defeat at the hands of Vanarama National League side Bromley. On Saturday (10 February), the fifth-round game at Hayes Lanes ended two-nil to the hosts.

At the end of the first half it was nil-nil. Aveley had been in the game but Bromley were not firing on all cylinders.

Michael Cheek scored a penalty for Bromley in the 56th minute and Louis Dennis made it two-nil to the hosts after 70 minutes.

On the day Millers were beaten by the better side.

Aveley return to league action next Saturday (17 February) when they play Hampton & Richmond Borough at Beveree Stadium. Borough have only won one of their last five league game and sit fifth in the league, three places above Aveley.
