Dartford 1, Aveley 2
AVELEY beat Dartford two-one at Princes Park Stadium on Tuesday Night (27 February). The local Vanarama National League South match saw the Millers send themselves within one point of the playoff places.
Quick-fire goals from Nana Kyei and Siju Odelusi sealed a comeback victory to take three points back to Essex.
It was a dull first half, not many chances and the scores were level.
Dartford scored in the 54th minute through Fumnaya Shomotun who carried the ball into the box and finished well.
Kyei replaced Kenny Aileru in the 78th minute and two minutes later with his first touched scored. A Corner fell to him, and he sent it home.
Three minutes after the equaliser Millers score again! Kai Brown is taken out by the Dartford keeper and is awarded a penalty. Odelusi stepped up and finished coolly, sending the Millers faithful behind the goal into celebration.
After the game Aveley Manager Danny Scopes praised his teams' level of energy after having a busy schedule. He said, "To find that energy after we got up at five in the morning on Saturday and we probably got home at half twelve (am). To find that energy is full credit to those boys.
On Saturday, Aveley play second place Chelmsford City at Melbourne Stadium on Saturday (2 March). Chelmsford are unbeaten in five games and will provide a big test for Millers.
