Maldon & Tiptree 0, Grays Athletic 2

TWO more goals from the prolific Sam Bantick, his 18th and 19th of the season, ended Maldon's revival under Peter Taylor and lifted Grays back into the Isthmian North play-off zone.

The Blues were also indebted to a penalty save from keeper Danny Sambridge who thwarted Jammers' Harry Phillips.

Having survived a morning pitch inspection the match was played out in wet and windy conditions and the teams went into the break goalless.

That was due to Sambridge who dived to his right to keep out Phillips' penalty, awarded after George Winn was adjudged to have handballed in the 25th minute.

The deadlock was broken by a fine Bantick volley just after the hour and he made it two on 69 minutes to seal the win.
