Aveley's match at Cheshuint has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Cheshunt. Improved weather meant the planned pitch inspection at Brightlingsea was not required so Tilbury's game is on.

AVELEY FC are due to continue their Isthmian Premier campaign at Cheshunt this afternoon (Saturday, 6 December) but the match is subject to a 10.30am pitch inspection after recent heavy rainfall.

Millers boss Brett Munyard lambasted his players after a midweek defeat at home to Redbridge in The Velocity Cup so will be hoping the match is on so his players can get that out of their system before Monday's home Essex Senior Cup quarter-final against Maldon and Tiptree.

There's also a pitch inspection, at 10am, at Britghtlingsea Regent who are due to host Tilbury in the Isthmian North.

Again, Millers management will be looking to get into action to quickly erase the disappointment of Tuesday's home defeat by Stanway.

Grays Athletic are due to play host to second-from-bottom Downham Town and it's also a case of bouncebackability as Grays went down in their last match, a 1-0 defeat at Takeley.

This will be the first ever meeting between the sides. Downham were promoted after finishing third in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division last season. They then defeated Ely City and Walsham le Willows in the playoffs to reach Step 4 for the first time in their history.

In terms of recent form, Downham's form is better than Grays, having earned five points from the last six league games. In the same time frame, Blues have won just 3three points, failing to score in five of six matches.

This is Grays' last home game before Christmas and the club will have a naughty elf on the shelf with gifts for the little ones. The match will also feature a collection for the Thurrock-based Friends of Essex and London Homeless charity.

In the Essex and Suffolk Border League Premier Division East Thurrock Community FC will be looking to stretch their lead at the top of the table when they host Cressing at the Wyldecrest Club, kick-off 2pm.
