AVELEY hit the cup trail again today (Saturday, 7 December) with a trip to National League Premier side Barnet - reprising their FA Cup encounter last year.

Millers will have a tall order in their FA Trophy Third Round tie at the Hive but under Danny Scopes' management Aveley have gained a reputation for being a tough side to beat in big games.

Isthmian North action was due to include Tilbury continiing their promotion challenge at home to near neighbours Concord Rangers - a first league meeting between the two in ten years. But that will have to wait after the game was called off following a pitch inspection this morning.

And Grays Athletic were set to go to Waltham Abbey, but a pitch inspection arranged for 10am declared the Capershotts pitch unplayable.

East Thurrock Community FC were due to go to third-placed Thorpe Athletic in the Essex and Suffolk Border League Premier Division - but that's also a victim of the wind and weather.
