MILLERS continued to show inconsistency in the Isthmian Premier, losing this closely-contested match to a brace from Tanners' Anas Igozouln.

The defeat prompted manager Brett Munyard to express disappointment and a degree of anger at his side's performance after the match and he said he 'might have a few decisions to make' in the next few days.

There was little sign of what might follow as Aveley made a bright start and were rewarded with the game's opening goal after just five minutes.

After a long throw in from Matty Johnson, the ball fell to skipper George Saunders who fired through a group of players to beat visiting Sonny Wheeler.

A second might have come Millers' way five minutes later when excellent set-up play from Toby Aromolaran created a great opportunity for Malachi Napa but he shot just over the top.

Leatherhead then began to grow into the game and pushed Millers back. The hosts were grateful to keeper Charlie Turner for a great save just before the half hour and it looked as if Millers would go into the break with a lead, but in the minute of added time got an equaliser when a lofted cross was met by Kofi Anokye-Boadi and with Turner jumping and then falling to try and save it, the ball came back off the bar and left Igozouln with the task of leaping to head into an unguarded net.

The game was up for grabs in the second half and both sides had chances, most spectacularly just after the hour when Aromolaran leapt to send an acrobatic effort over the bar.

However, the decisive moment came on 67 minutes when Tanners sub Braiden Hall who drove down the left side before delivering a cross to the back post where Igozouln swept in the winner.

Millers battled hard to the end and were denied by a fine save from Wheeler, but even with five minutes of added time the equaliser wouldn't come and Leatherhead took Millers' seventh place in the table.

There's a quick turnaround for Millers who welcome Wingate & Finchley to Parkside on Monday (14 September).
