Newmarket Town 3, Tilbury 3

TILBURY suffered an anti-climactic last 22 minutes of Saturday's (31 October) encounter when their hopes of an impressive Isthmian North win were unseated by a comeback from the high-flying Jockeys

After the midweek defeat at Fakenham Tilbury made a couple of changes with Issa Sidibe and Ronnie Winn returning to the side. Connor Wheatley also found himself in the starting lineup in place of the absent Billy Lawlor.

Dockers took the lead after 14 minutes when Bobby Rea was slotted through down the left flank. Rea carried the ball into the box, and his low cross found Ben Allen, who netted for the third consecutive game.

Soon after, Tilbury almost increased the deficit when James Young failed to claim a cross and the ball fell to Luke Reeve. However, Reeve's effort was cleared off the line by Josh Coulson.

After the break, Soumen Nandi picked up the ball on the left-hand side and skipped past a challenge before clipping a beautiful cross to the back post, where Allen was arriving. Allen rose higher than the defender and headed past Young to double his tally for the day.

Nandi was involved again on the hour mark, as he gained possession around 35 yards from goal. Reminiscent of his goal a couple of weeks ago against Hashtag United, Nandi picked up the ball in his own half and danced past four defenders before unleashing a rocket that soared into the top right corner to give Dockers a seemingly match-winning three-goal advantage.

However, the Jockeys did not surrender and were quickly gifted a lifeline in the form of a penalty.

The striker, Elliott Reeves, was the man who stepped up, and he made no mistake, rifling his spot-kick into the roof of the net.

Newmarket continued to push and pulled another goal back in the 73rd minute following a corner that was cleared only as far as Lennon King on the edge of the area. King met the ball on the volley and found the left-side netting to create a nervy end to the game for the visitors.

And the comeback was finally completed in stoppage time, as a cutback from the left was towards Reeves, who slotted home the equaliser.

SQUAD: Wheatley, Bennett, Rea, Reeve ©, Elliott, Winn, Brocklebank, Allen, Nandi (Dadson), Salau (Stimson), Sidibe. SUB UNUSED: Townsend.

Dockers are back in action on Saturday, 7 November when they host Concord Rangers.
