DOCKERS' trip to Great Yarmouth in the Isthmian North on Saturday (11 April) ended in disappointment as the promotion-chasing home side enjoyed a reasonably comfortable win despite plenty of attacking intent from the visitors.

In front of just 81 spectators, Tilbury made three changes from their Easter Monday win over Grays Athletic and took time to settle, allowing the Greens to make a good start and they took the lead in the sixth minute when Dion Frary's low ball into the box looked to be heading into the Tilbury keeper, Billy Lawlor's, waiting hands. But Ryan Curtis was on the move and snuck in just in front of the keeper to divert the ball into the net.

It was another 25 minutes before either side had another effort at goal with Greens' Harley Black shooting over from distance.

A minute later, Gorleston had keeper Canham to thank for keeping them in front with a superb one handed save, diving to his left to keep out what looked a certain goal from Jake Brocklebank's header.

Four minutes later, Tilbury had a big shout for a handball in the box. Tyler Forbes; thunderbolt shot struck Joe Jefford's arm but the players were very close together and Jefford's arm was by his side as he turned his back so the referee waved away appeals.

A minute before the break, the Greens had Canham to thank again with another fine save diving to his left to keep out Reeve's header.

Just another minute later, Gorleston doubled their lead. Black's corner from the right was flicked on by Zach Dronfield and Adam Tann turned it in at the back post.

Tilbury came out on the front foot for the second half and should have scored in the second minute but Kieran Jones blazed over on the turn.

Jones then tried an effort off the outside of his foot, six minutes later, but the ball hit the top of the bar.

The third goal came just before the hour mark. Lewis Johnson's cross was nodded back by Curtis from the by line and Jefford headed it in.

Luke Johnson was a foot away from making it four, four minutes later, when his dipping shot from the edge of the box landed on the top of the net.

Tilbury: Billy Lawlor, Alfie Fry, Joshua Taylor (Lester Ward 62), Ronnie Winn (Soumen Nandi 57), Luke Reeve, Jack Hayes (c)(Luke Northwood 62), Tyler Forbes, Jake Brocklebank, Kieran Jones (Jake Forbes 70), Ayo Odukoya, Joe Elliott.

Tilbury travel again next weekend and will face Stanway Rovers, another side very much in the promotion play-off mix.
