Tilbury 4, Tring Athletic 0

TILBURY made it 17 unbeaten matches in a row, beating Tring Athletic this afternoon (Saturday, 11 November) to progress to round three of the FA Vase.

Ahead of kick-off, Remembrance Day commemorations took place at the EMR Stadium.

The home team started well, having the better of it early on. Alex Clark came close in the 28th minute after a deflected shot. Soon after, Clark had another good chance after some clever build-up play by Jack Hayes and Roman Campbell, and his low shot narrowly missed the target.

However, Dockers were not left regretting missed chances as, on 41 minutes, Hayes slid a powerful shot past the Tring goalkeeper following a corner and the home side went into the interval with a deserved lead.

After more Dockers domination, in the 69th minute, Hayes got his second after winning his header at the near post from a Macauley Joynes corner.

Just three minutes later, Dan Trendall was fouled in the penalty area. Campbell stepped up and made no mistake, smashing his penalty home.

Clark capped off a good day for Tilbury, drilling a low shot into the bottom corner in the 77th minute.

Tilbury travel to Brentwood on Tuesday (14 November, 7.45pm) hoping to make progress in the BbC Essex Senior Cup,
