DOCKERS are now just two matches away from securing the Essex Senior Premier Division title and bouncing back up the non-league pyramid at the first time of asking following last season's relegation from the Isthmian North.

With just four matches left - and after the midweek draw with Barking - Tilbury top the table by 13 points following today's emphatic win at the EMR Stadium.

Regardless of what nearest rivals Woodford or Romford do, six more points will secure the title.

Tilbury took an eighth minute lead when Macauley Joynes' free kick was parried and Harry Donovan was on hand to poke the ball into a gaping net.

The home side's pressure continued and after good work from Callum Ibe, Roman Campbell came close to a goal. But it duly arrived on 26 minutes when Oli Spooner crashed home a shot from the edge of the area.

And things got even better on 39 minutes when Sam Carter slotted a perfectly-placed half volley home.

Tilbury took the three goal lead into the break and on the hour Donovan was once more the man on the spot to capitalise on another rebound and grab his second of the afternoon.

Dockers can take Woodford out of the title equation in their next match, when they play host to them at Chadfields on Saturday, 6 April.
