DOCKERS returned to winning ways in Saturday's (10 October) Isthmian North clash at Chadfields.

Joint managers George Christou and Jack Toghli made three changes to the starting lineup from the midweek draw at Buckhurst Hill as Ronnie Winn, Soumen Nandi and Charlie Stimson all returned to the side.

The hosts came close to opening the scoring inside 15 minutes as they broke quickly from a Takeley corner. Nandi did brilliantly to hold the ball up before beating his man and playing a clipped pass to release Issa Sidibe. However, the striker's effort would roll just wide of the far post.

Tilbury continued to threaten after the break, but were unable to take the lead as two crosses were flashed across the face of goal, with nobody on hand to turn the ball into the net.

Soon after, Sidibe created himself another goalscoring opportunity by battling well to win the ball back high up the pitch. Sidibe ran through one-on-one, but he was denied by the face of Jarvis Monk, who stood tall to make the save.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 67th minute courtesy of the returning Nandi. Stimson received the ball in the area, before setting it back to Nandi, who unleashed a rocket into the far side netting.

With 10 minutes to go, Tilbury doubled their advantage with Sidibe finally getting his goal, as he raced through and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

SQUAD: Lawlor, Bennett, Taylor, Winn (Toussaint), Elliott, Reeve ©, Nandi (Rea), Brocklebank, Sidibe (Fry), Allen, Stimson (Salau). SUBS UNUSED: Wheatley.

Dockers are back in action on Tuesday (13 October) when they host Halstead Town in the Essex Senior Cup.
