Three Bridges 1, Aveley 5

AVELEY'S first ever visit to Jubilee Field on Saturday (22 August), ended in an emphatic victory that lifts them to sixth in the Isthmian premier table.

Millers were dominat from the off, showing real attacking intent, but visiting supporters' hearts were in theit mouths on eight minutes when referee Timothy Schietroma appeared to award Three Bridges a penalty, but after much debate and confusion, the incident turned into a free kick for the home side which came to nothing.

By that time Jayden Robinson had already created a good chance when he turned the defence inside out but his shot was blocked.

Similar service quickly resumed as Millers remained on the front foot. Toby Aromolaran did well to take the ball into the box bugt his shot was slightly wide.

The pressure continued and home keeper Sam Roberts was kept busy, tipping a couple of efforts over the bar.

However, it wasn't long before the deadlock was broken on 21 minutes when Aromolaran rolled the ball home and he added a second on 39 minutes thanks to a gift from Roberts as his attempt to distribute the ball ended with the ball falling for Aromolaran who knocked the ball into an empty net to give the visitors a two goal half time lead.

That advantage was halved seven minutes into the half when Bridges' Hayden Velvick fired home a first time strike from just outside the box after the ball was cut back to him.

Millers were quickly on the attack in search of a response and Aromolaran skinned his man again before setting up Jayden Robinson Robbo whose strike from five yards was blocked on the line.

Bridges kept trying and were unlucky when an effort came back on the woodwork, so there was an element of relief for Aveley supporters when they extended the advantage on 65 minutes when substitute Luke Kelly was fouled in the box and Ollie Peters slotted home the resultant penalty.

And a fourth goal followed on 77 minutes when Chris Harris responded quickets to head home a rebound off the crossbar.

The final goal arrived four minutes from time when Kelly, who was excellent after his introduction on the hour, set up fellow sub Zaid Al Hussaini, sent on for the last ten minutes, and his shot was deflected past the helpless Roberts.

Aveley return to Parkside next Saturday (29 August) when they entertain Lewes in the Isthmian Premier.
