AVELEY and East Thurrock were in high spirits this evening after wins on the road.

However, there was disappointment for Grays, who were held to a goalless draw at home and Tilbury - who gave the league leaders a scare but eventually went down.

Aveley sit second in the Isthmian Premier after their 1-0 win at Kingstonian thanks to George Sykes' 29th minute goal.

East Thurrock left it late but also won 1-0 at Witham Town in the Isthmian North, victory coming thanks to Harry Hope's 87th minute penalty.

Tilbury gave AFC Sudbury a scare, taking the lead through Roman Michael Percil on 43 minutes but second half goals from Sakariya Hassan and Joshua Stokes denied them a memorable win.

It was stalemate at Parkside when Grays entertained Stowmarket Town.
