TILBURY face a tough test at home today (Saturday, 11 February) when Isthmian North leaders AFC Sudbury visit Chadfields.
The Dockers had a boost last night when Hullbridge Sports, the side a point below them in 17th and in the potential relegation zone, were beaten 2-1 at home by New Salamis.
A win for Scott Dash's charges who have garnered just four points from his six matches in charge to date, would open up a welcome gap but it will be tough.
Sudbury did something unexpected last time out - they lost to end a ten match winning run.
That defeat against Lowestoft saw their lead above Hashtag United cut to just one point, and they know that anything other than victory at Tilbury could see them removed from top spot for the first time since 12 November, dependent on the outcome of today's clash between second-placed Hashtag and third-placed Lowestoft.
Grays Athletic will hope to displace Stowmarket Town from fifth place and get back into the play-off zone when the two sides clash at Parkside, with a 2pm kick-off.
Hosts Grays will be looking to bounce back from successive defeats against Sudbury and Hashtag and also the disappointment of being kicked out of the Essex Senior Cup for playing an ineligible player in the fourth round win against Concord Rangers.
East Thurrock United travel to Witham Town hoping to gain revenge in the Isthmian North for their recent 3-1 defeat at The Simarco Stadium in the Essex Senior Cup.
Rocks have not won in their last six matches, picking up just one point in their last outing against Felixstowe and Walton United so there's a double incentive to reverse their fortunes today.
They will be attempting to do so without popular keeper Montel Joseph who it was announced had been released by the club this week.
Title and promotion-chasing Aveley will hope to strengthen their bid for Isthmian Premier honours at struggling Kingstonian.
The Millers sit third and could once again top the table if results involving leaders Bishops Stortford and third-placed Enfield Town go their way.
After a brief blip, Aveley have hit form again recently and have won their last three matches. When the two sides met at Parkside in November they shared a goalless draw.
It's been a season of struggle for Kingstonian, who play at Tooting and Mitcham's Imperial Fields, and they currently sit 19th - just in the relegation zone.
