Grays confirm Joynes is back in the hot seat as interim team are given charge for rest of season

GRAYS Athletic have confirmed the appointments of Paul Joynes and Mitch Hahn as manager and assistant manager respectively for the remainder of the season after the due took charge of yesterday's (Saturday, 21 February) match at Waltham Abbey. Though the Blues lost, there were encouraging performances across the board.
A club statement today said: "They will work alongside the existing management team of Sam Walker, Nik Strizovic, Luke Edmonds, Sim Madgewick and club captain Lewis Clark who will step up as first team coach.
"Supporters will be familiar with both Paul and Mitch who have a long history associated with the club.
"Paul is an experienced former non-league player and manager who has previously been with Bishop Stortford, Dover, Waltham Abbey and Tilbury to name a few and was also number two under Jim Cooper at Grays Athletic before taking on the ,anager role in season 2022-23. Paul has also been Director of Football at the club.
"Mitch is a former fans favourite who joined the club in 2018 and spent four and a half years with the Blues playing 156 times and scoring 15 goals for the club. An accomplished midfielder, with an eye for the spectacular also enjoyed a successful spell at Ware after leaving Grays in 2023 before moving on to Harlow where he was assistant manager until this opportunity became available.
"The club would like to wish Paul and Mitch the best of luck and look forward to them being back at Grays Athletic."
