Concord Rangers 1, Grays Athletic 3

GRAYS Athletic pulled off a giantkilling act to knock Concord, a side two divisions above them, out of the Essex Senior Cup at the Aspect Arena this evening (Tuesday, 24 January).

And they had the benefit of giving debuts to young players, including livewire striker Mekhi Clarke and Troy Osei-Bobie.

The Isthmian North visitors took a 13th minute lead through Callum Watts and never looked back.

Rob Clark grabbed a second on 22 minutes and Osei-Bobie made it three soon after the half hour.

The National League South side grabbed one back from the penalty spot on 54 minutes through Mo Kamara but they were unable to peg back the Blues who will be returning to the island next month to take on Isthmian Premier Canvey Island.
