Last match disappointment but Raiders celebrated championship success

DESPITE defeat in their final match of the season, played at Bowers & Pitsea's stadium, Corringham Athletic Raiders were still able to celebrate becoming league champions.

Though the girls lost 3-0 in Sunday's (4 May) match against Thundersley Rovers Lionesse they have finished the season, scoring 94 goals and conceding just 14 across 16 matches.

Coach Callam Ware said: "Our girls gave 110% from the first whistle to the last, showing heart, determination, and the same fighting spirit that's defined our season from day one.

"Despite the last result, we finish the league campaign top of the table, joint on 45 points with Thundersley Rovers Lionesses. A massive congratulations to them for a brilliant season and tonight's performance.
