THE Isthmian League season starts today (Saturday, 13 August) and all four borough non-League sides are in action.
Leading the way after last season's North championship winning season are Aveley who open their Premier Division journey with a trip to Hastings United, themselves starting a season at a higher level after winning the Isthmian South East Division last time out.
In the north division, there is one match on home turf and it takes place at Rookery Hill where East Thurrock United will be looking to bounce back at the first opportunity after relegation last season.
The Rocks will play host to AFC Sudbury.
Grays Athletic make the trip to one of the perennial promotion contenders Coggeshall United and another side who are also always talked about as potential title contenders are Maldon and Tiptree - who will play host to Tilbury.
The Dockers were in action last week and got their season off to a good start with an FA Cup extra preliminary round success on the road against Milton Keynes Irish.
