AVELEY face another tough test of their Isthmian Premier promotion credentials when they entertain Lewes at Parkside on Saturday (18 February).
The Millers are in second spot, five places above seventh-placed Lewes and go into the match on the back of run of form that has seen them win their last five league matches.
It is a run that has delighted manager Danny Scopes who says: "I need to say how proud I am of our football club right now. On the pitch and off the pitch, the players and the supporters have been doing the club so proud.
"To go on the run we have been on as a new team in this league, is a true credit to all and we all should be very proud.
"Five wins on the spin, at any level is good work and to have only two defeats in ten games, we have to praise this group of players for their efforts so far. At the start of the summer, we set the squad a target and that has been met.
"So we are ahead of schedule at this time. The simple message to the group now is…… How Far?
"How far can we take this season and how hungry are we to keep pushing as a group of players and as a football club.
"The game against Lewes will be a real good test and a opportunity for us to play, what many would say is the best footballing team in the league. Lewes have some experienced players and some real threats in their squad."
