AVELEY produced another exceptional performance, shaking off any fatigue in their fourth match in nine days, to earn a place in the BBC Essex Senior Cup final on Monday (12 January) night at Parkside.

Millers took the lead on 19 minutes when a long throw in from Matty Johnson was recycled back to him and he whips in a brilliant ball to Chris Harris who headed home.

The hosts went close to a second on 38 minutes when and Interchange between Ollie Peters and Fletcher Hubbard saw the latter fire an effort from 35 yards which smacked the post, but they took the lead into the break.

The match turned further in Millers' favour just before the hour when Alfie Cerulli was sent off as he took down Jayden Gipson in the box and Peters converted the spot kick.

The icing on the cup cake came on 78 minutes when a flowing move ended with Hubbard linking up with Gipson who pulled it back to Ollie Peters to sweep home from 12 yards.
