AVELEY comfortably moved into the semi-final of the Essex Thameside Trophy, where they will meet Grays Athletic, with Wednesday ( 222 March) evening's win at Parkside.

The Millers included some new faces in their squad and one of them, Saleem Akanbi, marked his debut with the first goal of the evening on 19 minutes with a first time strike that beat the keeper.

Six minutes later Garrett Keely tapped home Akanbi's low cross to extend the lead which was maintained into the break.

Sub Oli Coker was introduced at half time and seven minutes after the restart, with his first touch, he made it three.

Hani Berchiche, signed from Harrow Borough, got on the scoresheet on his debut with the fourth goal on the hour and Nick Dembele came off the bench to score his first goal for the club with the fifth of the night.
