AVELEY will be looking to record a first win in three Isthmian Premier outings when they travel to Horsham for a match that kicks off at 1pm.

The hosts sit in mid table, largely thanks to their home record where they have won six of nine matches, losing just two.

The Millers are third and have a decent away record, winning four, drawing one and losing four.

Also on the road - but only making the short trip to Basildon United in the Isthmian North - are East Thurrock United. Rocks have fared well away from Rookery Hill and go into the match against a side in 13th on the back of a run that has seen them lose just twice in all competitions in their last 13 matches.

They are also boosted by the return to the club of Ben Wyss who was a great favourite with the supporters last season when he made 49 appearances, joining the club from Ipswich Town, where he had been part of the Academy and played for the Under 21 side.

He has since been with Brentwood Town, where he has played eight times- including in defeat to the Rocks on 20 September.

The club have also announced that Ben Steward's loan from Aveley has been turned into a permanent deal.

In contrast to a resurgent Rocks, Grays Athletic have had a torrid time of late as they have slipped down the table, losing their last three league matches including last weekend's poor display at Hullbridge.

They did enjoy an Essex Senior Cup third round win against lowly Basildon Town in midweek, winning 3-1 at Rookery Hill, Corringham, where the Eastern Counties League South side play.

It was a mixed night for Sam Bantick who opened the scoring on eight minutes, but was sent off just after the half hour.

By then the scores were level thanks to Rhys Fatts' 27th minute penalty but the Blues won through with second half goals from Ronnie Winn (48 minutes) and Aron Gordon (67).

Lewis Dark's side will hope they can bounce back with a league win at home to Bury Town today in a match that kicks off at 2pm.

Bury are ninth, and Blues tenth, separated by just two points.

Tilbury will hope that last week's 5-2 win away to Gorleston is a corner turned and they can build on it with a win at the EMR Stadium against Wroxham, who are poor travellers having won just once away in the league to date.
