Farnborough 3, Aveley 1

AVELEY lost three-one to Farnborough in the Vanarama National League South. Saturday's (16 March) game at the Easy As Hgv Stadium was disappointing for Millers and questionable officiating spoiled their chances.

Farnborough received a very soft penalty just five minutes in, but to Millers reprieve Aaron Khul smashed the ball over the bar.

Three minutes later Aveley were awarded a penalty after Razzaq Coleman De-Graft was fouled. Siju Odelusi stepped up and coolly finished into the corner.

The frantic start continued as Farnborough levelled in the 12th minute through Reggie Young who slotted into the bottom left corner.

Farnborough took the lead just before half time in the 46th minute. Edon Pruti headed home from close range following a corner.

Aveley had work to do and started the second half well. However, progress was halted after Ryan Carr received a straight red card after 82 minutes; it must be said, an awful decision from the officials. Aveley will most likely appeal the decision.

The home side took advantage of having an extra man and scored in the 84th minute through Joe Haigh.

Next, Aveley play St Albans on Saturday (23 March) at Parkside. St Albans have won two of their three last games and are 7th in the league.
