TWO borough non-League sides were celebrating this evening (Saturday, 8 October) but supporters of two others returned home disappointed.

Performance of the day goes to East Thurrock United who travelled to Bury Town's Ram Meadow and came back with a 1-0 win, forged in adversity and thanks to a fourth minute goal from Brian Moses.

Rocks ended the match with ten men after Olly Spooner was sent off - and the visitors also picked up six of the eight yellow cards dished out by a referee who will certainly not be on the Rookery Hill Christmas card list.

In the FA Trophy Grays were held to a goalless draw after extra time at Parkside but emerged victorious against Faversham town after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory.

There was Trophy disappointment for Aveley though, they shared seven goals at Horsham but lost out 4-3.

Millers led 2-0 thanks to 17th minute penalty and a 43rd minute goal from George Sykes.

They couldn't take the two goal lead into the break though as Bobby Price scored on the cusp of half time and then an own goal in the opening minute of the second half restored parity.

Harry Gibbs scored just after the hour gave Millers a lead that looked likely to win the third qualifying round tie but Shamir Fenelon levelled on 88 minutes and Horsham won with Doug Tuck's goal in the 94th minute.

Tilbury's recent run of poor league results unsurprisingly continued at Isthmian North leaders Lowestoft who made it an eight match winning streak with a 2-0 win.
