SPORTING fans from Thurrock may have a limited amount of live action to watch as the freeze has seen all the npn-League football games called off, but rugby fans can still get their fix courtesy of a short trip over the QEII bridge.

Gravesend RFC confirmed at 11.40am that today's (Saturday, 4 January) scheduled London and South East Regional 2 South East match against Thurrock at Rectory Field is still on.

The match is a meeting of the division's bottom two clubs. Thurrock, who have yet to win a match this season, lost 25-10 at home to their near neighbours in September and will hope the new year brings a change of fortune.

That win in September was one of just two wins for today's hosts so far this season and Thurrock may hope the door is ajar for their first win.

Tomorrow is set to see both Thurrock women's teams in action. The T-Birds firsts team travel to play Sutton & Epsom and the seconds also hit the road to play top of the league Thamesians.
