Halstead Town 1, Tilbury 4
TILBURY move 11 points clear at the top of the Essex Senior League after beating Halstead Town four-one at Rosemary Lane on Tuesday (20 February).
Dockers scored three times in just five minutes to secure an untouchable early advantage!
Jack McQueen netted Tilbury's first goal in the 24th minute. Macauley Joynes' corner found McQueen who couldn't have had an easier finish.
The second came two minutes later thanks to Connor Martin nodding home from another corner.
Oliver Spooner's strike from the edge of the box flew into the bottom corner after 28 minutes. Three goals in five minutes certainly stunned the home crowd.
Dockers were not done yet however, in the 51st minute Roman Campbell got on the end of a lovely Joynes' through ball and beat the keeper even when presented with a tight angle to shoot.
Halstead got one back after 73 minutes as Kane Gilbert finished coolly inside the box.
Tilbury have now won 20 games this season, only dropping 15 points along the way.
Dockers go again next Tuesday (27 February) when they play Great Wakering Rovers at Burroughs Park. Wakering sit 8th in the league and are unbeaten in six league games.
