TILBURY are crowned Champions of the Essex Senior League following their two-nil victory against Frenford.

Saturday's (20 April) win at the EMR Stadium means Dockers return to the Isthmian North Division just one year after being relegated. It came right down to their last game of the season, but the victory confirms they cannot be caught by second place Romford.

No goals in the first half would've worried Dockers fans, especially as Christian North was forced to make an excellent save just before half time. He got down to his left and denied Nick Reynolds' effort.

But finally, Oli Spooner broke the deadlock in the 66th minute sending Dockers fans wild! Spooner has scored four goals in Tilbury's last four games; firing on all cylinders when it mattered most.

Alex Clark scored in the 93rd minute to secure the title and promotion.

Tilbury's promotion to the Isthmian North Division also means the return of their local derby against Grays Athletic.

Roman Campbell was Tilbury's top scorer with 17 goals in 31 league appearances. Defender Harry Donovan made 36 league appearances with 35 starts – the most on the team.
