Tilbury 4, Clacton 1

TILBURY extends their lead at the top of the table and are now 13 Essex Senior League games unbeaten. The Dockers showed a dominant performance against FC Clacton at the EMR Stadium on Saturday (25 November).

The Dockers showed early why they are the team to beat. Their confident attacking moves paid off in the 23rd minute after Alex Clark fired the ball into the bottom right corner. Dan Trendall linked up with Clark with a fantastic switch of play.

Just after the goal went in Clacton Head Coach Ryan Salter was sent off, bad to worse for the visitors.

The Seasiders were not going to give up that easily. They scored in the 34th minute as Michael Okafor lopped his header from a freekick over Anthony Page.

The sides went in level at half-time.

Tilbury did not take long to reclaim the lead after the break. Sam Carter scored in the 53rd minute. The ball ricocheted to him in the box, he made no mistake, volleying the ball into the top corner.

The Dockers scored again 14 minutes later. Macauley Joynes sent a free kick into a fantastic area and Connor Martin was on hand to bundle the ball in.

A frustrated Clacton got another red card, this time on the pitch. Jenson Mulqueen was given his marching orders in the 84th minute after a dangerous tackle on Harvey Browne.

Clark sealed the win for Tilbury in the 93rd minute with a stunning goal. He received the ball on the right wing from Browne, skilled past the defender and placed his left-footed shot past the keeper.

The Dockers extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.

Tilbury stay at the EMR Stadium next Saturday (2 December) when they face Saffron Walden in the FA Vase third round. Saffron Walden sits 12th in the Essex Senior Football League.
