GRAYS have finally got their first league win of the season. The Blues travelled to Greens Meadow to face Stowmarket Town in the Isthmian League North Division on Saturday (25 November).
New boss Darren Manning has made an excellent impact, winning his first two games. He has also welcomed three new players to the club: Billy Crook (midfield), Julian Gibson (full-back), and Jack Humphrey (centre-back).
Charlie Stimson gave The Blues the lead after 39 minutes, his second goal in two games. An impressive start for the forward under new manager Manning.
Grays sealed the win after Julian Gibson scored in the 84th minute.
The Blues finally picked up their first league win in front of the 238 in attendance.
After the game, Manning simply said, "It's nice to win!"
He also praised the mentality of the players since he arrived, saying, "Credit to the players, they have been exceptional since we've walked through the door, I can't fault a single one of them."
Grays now return to the EMR Stadium to play Witham Town on Friday (1 December). The visitors sit 16th in the league and the game is a great opportunity for the Blues to win again.
