Stanway Rovers 1, Tilbury 2

TILBURY back to winning ways after they beat Stanway Rovers two-one in the Essex Senior League.

Saturday's (13 April) game at New Farm Road saw Oli Spooner score late to secure all three points for Dockers.

Tilbury are now only one win away from securing the Essex Senior League title.

Macauley Joynes' corner found Jack McQueen whose fantastic header went into the top corner after 17 minutes. However, Stanway equalised five minutes later after Tom Maycock pounced on a rebound.

After the early goals it was a quiet game until Oli Spooner scored for Tilbury in the 81st minute. He shrugged off his marker and fired home, an excellent goal.

Next, Tilbury face Saffron Walden at Catons Lane this Tuesday (16 April). Saffron Walden have only lost one of their last five league games and sit 6th in the Essex Senior League.
