Weston Super Mare 1, Aveley 2
AVELEY record fantastic win against Weston Super Mare in the Vanarama National League South. Millers won two-one in Somerset after Siju Odelusi converted a late penalty.
Saturday's (13 April) win at The Optima means Millers have a chance to secure a playoff spot on the last day! This will depend on Aveley winning their last game and Hampton & Richmond Borough losing their last two games.
For a team that were expected to be relegated, playoffs or no playoffs, Aveley have performed exceptionally well.
Millers took a first half lead after Harry Gibbs headed home in the 28th minute. However just eight minutes later Weston equalised through Bailey Kempster who scored from just inside the area.
Aveley were awarded a penalty in the 80th minute after Ryan Carr was taken down. Odelusi stepped up and coolly finished.
Aveley take on Bath at Parkside on Saturday (20 April). Bath have not lost in six games and sit sixth in the league. A tough test to secure an unlikely playoff spot.
