A busy rugby Saturday in the borough

DESPITE it being Valentine's Day, there's likely to be little love lost on a busy day of rugby action in the borough on Saturday (14 February).
The T-Birds will be playing against Exeter this Saturday – 1pm Kick-Off, followed by the men's 1st & 2nd teams kicking off at 3pm.
Ahead of England's Calcutta Cup clash 4.40pm there's lots of action at Thurrock's Oakfield ground - followed by a live band in the evening!
Thurrock men's firsts, who played a friendly against Old Cooperians last weekend to offset a competitive break since the 24 January win against Billericay, will be back in action at Oakfield against eighth-placed Chingford. Tees are table toppers, with a two point lead and a match in hand from second-placed Epping.
Thurrock mens seconds, who are eighth in Essex One are also at home on Saturday, entertaining second-placed Wanstead II.
Action in the same division happens at Palmers College where seventh-placed Pegs Palmerians are at home to third-placed Brentwood II.
In Division Two third placed Thames play host to fifth-placed East London II.
All the day's action begins at 1pm when Thurrock T-Birds have a rare Saturday outing - playing host at Oakfield to Exeter University in the Championship South.
T-Birds' last outing was an improved performance in a 41-15 defeat at Old Albanian Saints on Sunday, 1 February.
