Big day looms for Thurrock in Papa Johns Cup.

THE first part of what could be an amazing double for Thurrock Rugby Club will be played out at its Oakfield ground tomorrow (Sunday, 24 March).

The club's women's second team will be playing host to Amesbury at Oakfield in the semi-final of the Papa John Junior Cup – with a final at Twickenham the prize for the winners.

The match kicks off at 2pm and a big crowd is expected. However, if you can't make it, you can watch live via this link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03PERs0XpWs.

The winners will play either Sheffield Tigers or Hull Ionians.

The second half of the double challenge takes place next month when the T-Birds first team play host to Sale FC 1861 in the National Cup play-off semi-final on 21 April – with the final also due to be played at Twickenham.

The Women's Papa Johns Community Cup Finals & Championship Playoff Final will be held at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday, 12 May.

And there's an appetiser today (Saturday, 23 March) when the men's firsts play away at Woodford in the London and South East Anglia 2 division - here's the live streaming link for that game - youtu.be/yMXJrFkiVA4.

While both men and women seem to have the answers on the field, there are plenty of questions ahead off it.

The club will be hosting a quiz night at Oakfied on Friday, 26 April. Ask at the club for fdetails or email [email protected]
