THURROCK RFC Firsts travel to seventh-placed Surry and Epsom in the London & SE Division Regional 2 South East today (Saturday, 16 November).
The borough side are rooted at the foot of the table with just one bonus point, but hope will spring eternal as the young Tees side once again make the Dartford crossing and face up to a tough challenge south of the river.
There may well be more positive expectations on Sunday at Oakfield when the ladies firsts, Thurrock T-Birds, play host to Battersea Ironsides (2.30pm).
Battersea were promoted to the Championship South this season and have won one and lost five so far.
Thurrock, in a rebuilding season, have won just two but will be hoping for a pivotal change of fortune.
