Thurrock T-Birds 50, Sutton and Epsom 12

TRIES from Madeleine Lockwood (5 minutes), Jessica-Jane Scrace (8 mins), Hannah Thornhill (34 and 70 mins), Abigail Jones (38 mins), Leah Dixon (50 mins), Jessica Pettafor (56 mins) and Amy Battel (64mins), with three successful kicks from Sophie Scanlon gave T-Bids an emphatic win in the Women's Championship South at Oakfield on Sunday (6 October).

The home side were dominant from the off, with Lockwood's early try and Scanlon's concersion laying down a marker.

They were not disrupted by a blow on 24 minutes when Amy Battel was red-carded, and by half time had built up a 26-0 lead.

A number of substitutions meant the second half was a little bit disjointed but T-Birds remained dominant throughout.

T-Birds are next in action on Sunday, 13 October at table-topping Richmond, with the next home match set for Sunday, 24 October when Henley visit.
