THREE late tries recovered some pride for Thurrock as they went down to a heavy London and South East Regional 2 South East defeat at Sidcup in a match overshadowed by news of the death of one o the club's stalwarts.

Saturday's (26 October) match was already effectively decided with Sidcup 30 points ahead when Kodie Holloway crossed the whitewash on 55 minutes. Harry Reynolds grabbed another try seven minutes later and Thurrock had the last word when Caolan Watts-Adams added the final points of the match.

The seventh consecutive defeat leaves Tees rooted at the foot of the table with just one bonus point to their name.

However, post match talk was of the contribution to the club of Dave Sardar, a longstanding member who has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

After his playing career ended he continued to support the club, watching home games and viewing matches on TV and was a regular on a Friday night to see Premiership matches until very recently.

Dave's funeral has been arranged for Tuesday, 5 November at 2.30pm at Pitsea Crematorium.

The family have decided to have no flowers, if you would like to make a donation to St Luke's Hospice it would be much appreciated in recognition of the care given to Dave. The link is below.
